Beenie Gunter has finally been released from Abu Dhabi prison.
Singer Beenie Gunter has been released on bail, days after being held in an Abu Dhabi jail. The singer was arrested at DXB after performing on Sunday.
He was found in Dubai on his way back to Uganda and returned to Abu Dhabi. Vinny Gunther reportedly had a misunderstanding with the promoters who booked him during his show in Abu Dhabi.
A fight broke out and some property at the site was destroyed. As the main artist, he was accused of inciting fights. The singer was required to pay for the damaged property but, having no money at the time, remained in jail. His colleagues did their best to keep him away on social media. Eddie Kenzo Bini said he had contacted Uganda’s ambassador in Abu Dhabi to ensure Gunter could get help and return home safely. According to sources in Abu Dhabi, Vinny Gunter was eventually released on bail. However, he still cannot return to the country. He must remain in Abu Dhabi until the case is fully concluded.
It should be noted that several prominent Ugandan personalities are detained in the UAE for various reasons. Fik Fameika and Bobi Wine spent time in Dubai prison or airport detention centre.
